The Short-Stay and Rehabilitation Center at Lakeshore is for patients
who are seriously ill yet medically stable and no longer in need
of acute hospital services. Common reasons for admission to the
Subacute Center include recovering from surgery, such as a hip
or shoulder replacement. Patients receive highly skilled nursing/rehabilitation
care and technologically advanced therapies.
Our services include:
- 24-hour Nursing Care
- Chaplaincy
- Social Services
- Rehabilitative Services
- Occupational Therapy
- Physical Therapy
- Speech Therapy
- Nutritional Services - Supervised by a Registered Dietician.
- Therapeutic Recreation
- Housekeeping
- Laundry
- Volunteer Services/Auxiliary
- Full Service Salon*
- In-room Telephone*
- Cable TV*
* Additional charges applied.
As patients regain strength through therapy, the
goal is for them to return to some level of independent living
upon discharge. Patients can stay in the Subacute Center for up
to 100 days. If the time period has lapsed but the patient still
needs skilled nursing care, the patient will be transferred to
an alternate setting as appropriate.
People who will be having surgery and in need of
subacute care may call JoAnn Spielman at (218) 625-8293 or email
